  In languages.yaml the first few lines need to be something like: en: PLUGIN_SIMPLESEARCH: SEARCH_PLACEHOLDER: 'Search …' SEARCH_RESULTS: 'Search Results Test' That gives me the correct place

  I can't remember now but I did find it a little buggy. I think my solution was to activate another theme then reactivate the theme I was testing. Maybe it was a cache thing. I just recall it was fiddl

  No, I mean in the latin filler text your image has ""Neque porro..... velit..."" When I try it I only get one set of double quotes. Try with quark and see if it works there.

  I can't get it to work either on that theme. When I was assessing themes I noticed that the dropdown menu function can be a little unreliable.

  What theme are you using? I just tested this with Quark and Bootstrap and it works fine for me. All I can see is that you are getting two sets of quotes generated in your html.
