Internal server error when trying to upgrade through admin

I had an issue with installing the admin plugin but chmodding the bin folder (chmod -R 744 /bin ) fixed this.

now when I try to update through the admin panel I get this error:

Looks a problem with PHP's open_basedir config. Can you remove that from your php.ini?
