Password protect read access to grav?

Hi! Is there any way to password protect a grav installation? Not talking about the upcoming admin panel but rather about a way to give (read only) access only to some friends and family and not the whole world?

What your asking about is probably best done with a simple Basic Authentication implementation using .htaccess and .htpasswd. You can easily google this, but here's a simple generator:
