Anyone tested the performance difference of Grav when using PHP 5.x or 7 on a webserver lately?
Cause doing that on my local (high-end) PC doesn't get me realistic results :/

PHP 7.0 is approximately twice as fast as PHP 5.6. Combined with 50% less memory, and moving to PHP 7.0 is a huge benefit for Grav. Your site basically doubles in performance.

thx for the fast answer
and the hoster I want to use only provides PHP 5.6 T_T

If you ask your host, they likely have PHP 7 available through cli - which is all you need anyway. A lot of hosts now have 5.4, 5.5, 5.6 and 7 available with 5.x as standard.

this is just hilarious :')
I wrote an e-mail to them because the code for their special may offer coupon wasn't working for me and asked them what their plans for PHP 7 is.

While waiting for a reply I checked back at their website and now the code works and they put up an article on their news blog that PHP 7 is now available xD
