How to add an extension to the permalink

The standard title for a page name "test" is http//domain.com/test , how can I make that the permalinks can display .html at the end ? ie http//domain.com/test.html

There are no examples specifically adding file extensions, because it's not something many site builders want these days, but have you tried just adding a page level route?
