Importing content from flat files?

I have a broken wordpress site I am considering moving to Grav. I've looked over the threads here about migrating, and none provide a path forward for me because my site is currently offline and I do not want to invest in diagnosing and fixing the problem.

I'm considering migrating my "posts" table to flat files with markdown using ChatGPT, and then importing the flat files to Grav.

Two questions:

  1. Is there a "template" for Grav Flat files?
  2. is there a plugin or script for importing flat files to grav?

Do you have access to an xml file of your wordpress post or just the database ?

I used this https://www.rafspiny.eu/blog/wordpress-migration-to-grav-cms to get my xml file to converted to .md

Then used a text editor to mass edit the .md files, had to remove some html and edit urls for images/posts etc. Find and replace is your friend.

I didn't find a tool that could look into the database and pull the post out and save as .md, But even if there's is one you still have to edit the posts/files

I was able to get my website back up and running. So I think I can now use a plugin if I'm going to migrate it.

Hello,
I would suggest migrating to Grav now that you can, do not wait until the next setback with WP.
