Lets move from Discord to something else for instant chat ( telegram maybe? )

I have been using discord for maybe ten years? i forgot.

1) Last years it increased security so much, made me look at anti robot questions and emails more and more.
2) At Grav chat i saw some people mentioned that, like me they didnt want to install discord, and asked help and left chat as result.
3) Now for some special and wrong reasons at Türkiye discord is banned. i have been using vpn but it seems discord also banned türkiye because it wants telephone number forcibly and dont accept it, even with new account.
4) And I dont want to solve anti robot questions for hours again...

Result: i ask if we can use another instant chat ?

i wish it have, if possible all or some:
1) Can be used via web browser
2) Foss
3) Respects Privacy
4) Have ability to share images, if possible more
5) Have rooms
6) Text search
7) Topic tag
8) Username tag
9) Chat group search
10) Voice and video chat(actually i didnt use those even once for Grav but why not :D )

These are what came to mind when i think a little.
Even thought i want them all, not having some of them also acceptable.

Actually i dont think i can get what i want with this post because i know leaving discord wont be easy for many reasons. It is okay if you dont, it would be better if you do for me:)

I hope you leave some comments that mentions why we should leave discord and what are our options and what are benefits of each of those options:)

Well... Your suggested Telegram totally fails on the first three bullet points:

1. Can be used via web browser
2. Foss
3. Respects Privacy

To be fair, it can be used on a browser, but it still requires an app with an active account to connect to web version

Isn't it Foss ? at our phone at least so we know what it does at phone and what it gets from phone.
i also dont like it needs telephone number... you are also right about browser side.
Would you suggest another one ?

I think only clients part. Server side isn't I believe.

totally new here so pardon my ignorance of community history but matrix might be ticking a few of those boxes.

You indeed need an active account that's linked to your phone number but you can "hide" your number in the confidentially options.
