  To me it sounds like there's some kind of error, but error output is turned off and you get just empty line instead of actual error. Or maybe you're using a custom theme which has empty line in base.h

  I think you're trying to solve it the other way around. Try JS in Twig. Set JS variables for your strings in twig and then use them in JS. At least that's how I'd do

  Empty screen usually means there's an error, but error output is disabled. Check logs or enable error output
