Page Creation Modal and modular template in antimatter

I'm currently stuck in a situation when a page is saved by using the admin page creation modal tweak
admin recipe

blue print changes to a default (top of the list) when used with the modal template in antimatter.

• This has never happened before with regular pages which extends the default.

any pointers are appreciated.
